Diagnosing noise from engine bay

1988 Jeep Comanche 4.0 16. I just recently got my truck back from the painters shop  

 

and now it's making this weird sound whenever I start it up and when I accelerate. any clues on what could be causing it? my guess is the starter but i'm not too sure

Seems like the starter might not be disengaging quickly enough. What do you mean this happens under acceleration too? It could also be a cracked flex plate or the bolts for it have backed out if you have an automatic.

sorry I should’ve specified a bit better, it doesn’t make the initial sound as it does when starting up but it sort of enhances the sound it makes while idling
