Warren99 Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 My axle tube seals are leaking on my newish dana44. Does anyone know a part number or anything to find the right seals? I mainly ask because back when I was getting new brake hardware, it was considered odd that I had an XJ dana44 with the 9 inch brake drums instead of 10 inch drums. I wanna make sure I get the right seals.
schardein Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The 87-90 parts manual shows the same part number for the wheel seal on Dana 44s used in the XJ, MJ, and YJ. #83503063. Plug that into Rockauto and you get this: (see pic) Click on "info" for any of those parts and it gives you inside and outside measurements you can compare to your seal. A cheap set of plastic measuring calipers from Harbor Freight are accurate enough for comparison measurements like these.
Warren99 Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 nvm, found what I needed. I'd delete the thread since it's basically useless but idk how
