AZ highdesert
My local shop stated I could bolt the T case up to my 2wd tranny (auto). I just read that it won't work and I need to get a 4wd tranny when i do the converision. Deal or no deal???
FxRacing282
depends on the tailshaft. you can do it but you need an adapter
tjbliley
You must have a 4wd version of the tranny to 'just bolt it up'(voice of experience here). You can use a 2wd tranny after you swap the tail section over(includeing the tail shaft) to a 4wd. Find a new tranny shop is the best advice I could give you. Find a new tranny shop is the best advice I could give you. to interject, for clarification, swapping the output shaft (tail shaft) over to a 4wd shaft, involves a complete disassembly of the trans and gear assembly, and at that point you may as well rebuild the tranny while you're at it. and at that point, you may as well have bought a tranny that already worked and was what you needed.
