robfg67
I've got the factory electric fan in my '90 MJ with the 4.0 and air conditioning. I want to upgrade to the 10-blade '97 XJ style. RockAuto has Murray FA70117 for $48.79 and Crown has the 52028337AC for $122. They both look the same, but what a price difference. Any thoughts on which one I should buy? Salvagedcircuit
Lots of folks recommend the TYC 620560 10 blade fan. Since it's for a 97+ it has a different connector. You will need to adopt it to the comanche wiring harness. The fan is nice, but you will notice that it has sharp plastic edges everywhere, like it's being produced in an worn out mold. The fan works great, I just deburr the edges with a deburring tool so I don't cut my hand open installing and uninstalling the fan into the future. I use a carbide deburring tool, but since it's plastic, a utility knife would do the job.
ghetdjc320
Go oem Mopar New or used. Much better than the aftermarket ones. Here’s a used one and it comes with the connector https://www.ebay.com/itm/196001898981?hash=item2da29fa1e5:g:EAwAAOSw-ZFlFDao&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4CH6huA0t1Dnlo7wIHfzMwW9dEs6HzT2YJt6M3OJ3jD2i%2FsfNUj4AB7ywbR5JNnG08Owgls8YiYOOt5xpgjgJqy6789MqXX2X9SYeBp3jdI9%2BndaCRcPeMLQjYnJiF%2B58qGUZGzNMdj6LvATA1kuPA%2FZ4jOLag4fzM1eGNUBZsDIiaO6fBH8cS%2FcbeF1utnPBL0Bx6xsUwzgOkd6n5Xs%2FVT%2FaPBTLfDL5ySqrv7XnLVuH0tKISWMcy3qf9lU1arszcrsi7diErYvzHL%2FjiJYdSGjgaJbwFhfwb%2FPzS6twL%2BJ|tkp%3ABFBM-pGzjeFi
robfg67
Ghetdjc320, should I be concerned that this fan is already 20 years old?

Well, it’s always a gamble with used but I’d say the odds are in your favor vs aftermarket.
robfg67
I just read through your over the top build, so I'll take your advice. Thanks

Thanks You chose wisely Besides the sharp edges on the TYC fan, the runout is noticeable. I am curious about the runout on the TYC fan vs the original mopar one. If I ever run across a mopar fan, I'll try and compare the two of them with a dial indicator.
