KANTANKRUS
MJ Update: Not a speck of body putty was found and I have yet to find any rot! What was (Hunter Green Rustoleum, Home Depot grade) for 10 years is now Dead Rat, Flat Black (Automotive, Eastwood grade.) Stripped to bare metal, 2k primer, then paint. Next is the cab... a three-day weekend and conducive weather should give me a great chance of getting the rest of it, under new paint!!!

This is why I am scraping rust and painting a car of mine this week that spent its life in the north. On the plus side the interior is mint for a car that is known for interiors the disintegrate. KANTANKRUS
Progress: The roof on my MJ was a P.I.T.A to strip, it took a lot longer than I expected. The paint must have been sun baked on it like powder-coat. Phew wee! The roof and back of cab is under paint! With me being 6'3" and me standing on a 5 gallon bucket, I still could not get an even pattern on the roof surface of my MJ, so today, I plan to scuff the very top of the roof and stand in the bed, to try to get a smoother surface on the tip top of the roof... sure, for the most part, I will not see it, but I will still know that it is like that and it will bother me to no-end, until I can get it less Zebra stripe-like. I guess by me lifting that truck to 8+ inches higher than stock, it has a negative effect in this regard! Additionally, I have now selected the colors that will form the 'Kantankrus Kamo' pattern, on my MJ. Each of these finishes, along with the Dead Rat Flat Black, do not require a clear coat. They also contain UV inhibitors. All are matte finishes. Please remember 'Shiny paint causes stress' At some point, I will add a dash of red into the mix... by replacing the emblems with two color decals, black letters with a red outline! I also included a photo of my surface refinishing tool.
