dante2
When it first starts it runs ok and rpms hover around 730-750 for a few seconds. Then the rpms drop to 600-690 and the ST fuel trim bounces between 0-28. Readjusted the TPS (it was out a little) and indexed the distributor. It idles the same while in drive sitting at a light. I have a REM that I am getting the data from. I have another IAC I can try but any other thoughts on what is going on. Thanks for the help. Ωhm
ST fuel trim can stay and read low (0-28) as long as it doesn't keep lowering the LT fuel trim (128). Meaning both FTs work together.
dante2
Thanks Ohm I'll check on the LT tomorrow and see if it's fluctuating. I haven't been good to since I bought it. It has sat more than it's been driven, less than 3k miles in 7 years I believe. Started messing with it again last year and have been slowly bringing back to life. Last month I went through Cruiser's tips for the 2nd time since it was purchased. The idle has never been great on this truck and honestly I can't remember if it ever was. Some on here talk about how their idle is so smooth or purrs like a kitten. Mine sounds like a bear with indigestion.
87MJTIM
If LTFT is >128, then STFT should be<128 to bring LT back down, on a normal operating engine. How high is LTFT?
dante2
It was holding steady at 128.
