Looking for a small AC unit that actually works.

The space I have to work with is about 16 3/4 inches wide and 9 1/4 inches tall. 
 

Cutting the  opening and making it bigger is not an option. 
 

I was thinking a sill air conditioner would work possibly, but I don’t have any real world experience with them. If that doesn’t work I may be forced to use a portable air conditioner.

we have a rooftop unit in our trailer and, if I was starting from scratch, those newfangled detached units seem mighty tempting if for no other reason than how freaking loud the thing is right above my head.

I use a portable AC unit in my vintage trailer and have it vented through the floor in an inconspicuous area under the counter. It seems to work well enough with minimal minimal modifications.
