Mystery cover?

This cover was in the bed of the MJ when I bought it. Is it MJ related or junk from the previous owner? I tried looking it up by the part no. but no luck. So keep it or trash it? TIA

I think it’s part of the fuel tank protective cover.

Fuel tank skid. It’s the trimming from the long bed skid.

Does it fit a short bed? There's no tank skid on this truck.

It should work fine on the short bed too.
