Oizarod115 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I'm looking at replacing a bunch of things and upgrading while i'm there. plan is 99+ intake, motor mounts, exhaust and just overall replacing stuff i'm sure you've all noticed the difference between the new exhausts and the renix exhaust and the HO is designed for better flow and all that good stuff. but it doesn't have an outlet for the EGR like the renix header does i was wondering if anyone else has done this upgrade and how they put the egr in or if you removed it.
FxRacing282 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 well you need an EGR for inspection. The guy up here was giving me crap for not having an EGR on my 81. besides you would want an EGR. better fuel economy and it dosent idle as rough, oh and more power too

Kenosha Warrior Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Remember that the newer 4-oh's were made to run without an egr? There were lots of fights in the 'Visual Inspection' states with HO's about no EGR. Nick, if you've already got the block and head off'n a 97, just swap the exhaust on and go. Should be fine.

Pete M Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 confounded pete? I can't figure out how you could attach an EGR to a non-EGR intake. Maybe if you welded on a little tab so you could bolt it into it's approximate place and then run some fake vacuum lines to it and call it good?
