GTGMJ
I'm looking into replacing the left side dash warning lights panel, and replace it with a custom panel and 12mm warning lights off of Amazon. Right now, I think the only warning lights that work are the Parking Brake and Seatbelt. The seatbelt warning lamp doesn't turn on and off based on if seatbelts are secured. Do we even need this lamp? If so, how do you make it work properly? I'm thinking of having six 12mm lamps in there instead. Parking brake, low fuel (tied into that little lamp by the gas gauge, oil pressure, coolant temp warning, 4HI, and 4LO. I could go with eight lamps if needed, but eliminating the seatbelt one would be nice. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
schardein
The seatbelt warning buzzer "times out" and shuts off the buzzer and warning light after a set amount of time. Doesn't matter if you have fastened your seatbelt or not, it times out and shuts off. If you do fasten your seatbelt before the buzzer times out, it will shut off the buzzer when you fasten the belt, although the light stays lit until it times out. It's not like some modern cars that give you a reminder every so often if you don't fasten the belt. It won't hurt anything if you choose to delete it. boxyjeep
There will be no easy way to indicate between 4WD high and 4WD low with the stock sensors, as it only indicates between 2WD/4WD (regardless of high/low range). You'd have to rig some type of sensor on the handle or linkage. For the others, I'd just get a multimeter and do some testing to see why things aren't working. 90% of the time the bulb is out... I fixed all of mine by replacing bulbs and verifying wiring.
