Scroats
I am beginning this journey and there are so many different options to go down. I wanted to know what is the best year, make, model to to swap into a 1986 MJ with 2.5L auto (Column shift) 4x4. I would love to swap the dash, engine, trans, xfer case and all wiring. I do not have the donor vehicle yet and am willing to wait for the right opportunity. What is your opinion on the best donor vehicle? p84OVrWKSGqqWetEBpmmkg.jfif

89 MJ
If the 2.5 doesn't have enough power for you, neither will the 4.0, IMHO
dasbulliwagen
When converting from 2.5 to 4.0, the year model really doesnt matter, as long as the donor is complete and in good shape. Most will say 1991 or newer to get the better Chrysler injection. I personally would go for 96-99 to get OBD2 for easier diagnostics. But if a really good earlier model came along, theres no reason to stay away from it.
