Ωhm
What is the best way to dry off your brushes after using them? Bristles up, bristles down or does it even matter? I know you shake off as much liquid as you can, but I’m talking about letting them set overnight. I’ve heard down will hold liquid in the bristles. Is there any science behind this? frankspeed420
My dad used to wrap them in newspaper. Keeps the bristles sharp and dries even
Pete M
the water will dry no matter what position the brush is in. gravity matters very little to moisture trapped between bristles. I wrap mine in paper when I remember, but usually I just shape my 2" tapered brushes back to factory specs and sit them down with the brush over the edge of the table. on this subject, I've found the key to longevity and a sharp factory edge is not letting the paint get too deep into the brush and don't use the brush long enough for any paint to dry on it. when I cut household trim I have 2 brushes and frequently clean and change between them.
