Manche1 Posted November 2, 2022 Share Posted November 2, 2022 I have looked for a decent tailgate protector with not much luck. Seems like nothing is specifically made for our trucks anymore. I had the bed sprayed and 99% of the tailgate with liner. I did not want to go over the tops of the rails in case I wanted to paint the truck in the future. My truck is more for light duty than a serious work truck, so finding something that looks good is more important to me. I ordered some clear door trim protector from Amazon and this stuff is great. You can't really tell it is there and it will easily protect the tailgate when the occasional 2x4 is tossed in the back. For the tailgate, I used 1.18" wide and I just ordered some 3/4" wide for the bed rails. If it get's scuffed up, just pull it off and re-do it.
