pago cruiser
Found some 16x8 MOAB wheels I am interested in, about 500 miles away. Would rather not spend 2 days driving to go get em. Anybody ever shipped wheels? It might help these these do not have tires mounted. I think that 5 would fit on a 48x48 pallet, without stacking. But the seller does not want to be bothered to palletize them.
eaglescout526
I’ve done it. Granted I’ve shipped only one but to be honest shipping them is a hit or miss. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen UPS drop off rims from Chrysler and thanks to Chrysler being really cheap with packing material, they show up damaged 9/10 times. But that doesn’t mean the seller won’t package them well enough to prevent such. They could probably get a package deal from ups or FedEx to ship all 4 as identical packages for a decent price. 89 MJ
We've shipped wheels at my work back in WI. We would box them and put packing material around them in the box. Never had one damaged, but we usually shipped steel wheels. We boxed them individually and the price usually came to $50 per wheel.
Htchevyii
You can often get wheel boxes from a local tire shop. I have been using Pirate Shop lately for UPS and USPS an a significant discount over consumer rates. I hear that Fastenall also has good rates, but I have never used them.
