Our friends are moving out of state and owned about thirty vehicles. They got tired of making trips and gave us a 1989 Cherokee. I don't really need another project, but how could I say no? It's a desert rig, so it's rust free, but has baked paint. The story is that the PO paid someone to do an engine swap and put in a good running 92 HO engine.  He swapped over the Renix parts and it has never run again.  My friend did some troubleshooting and was pretty sure that they didn't change the flexplate to the Renix, but never got a chance to dig into it  Confirmed!, it does have the HO flexplate! Hopefully I'll have a decent running rig with a little work. I am dreading the paintwork though.

I can't deal with the peeling clear. Old paint maybe.

Same here. Single stage patina is quite different. Every time I hear “patina” though I automatically think “cheap”

Okay maybe I should call it the weathered look. 😅

I guess I mostly like the natural gradient between the two. But it definitely isn’t for everyone.
