Ωhm
30 minutes ago, NC Toy Boy said: MY Question is.... what turns the pump off when it does not have pressure after 3 seconds???? Fuel Pump Relay (FPR) is controlled by the ECU only. If you turn KEY ON the ECU will see IGN signal and the fuel pump will run for 2-3 seconds then shut OFF. This will/should prime the fuel rail. Now if you turn KEY ON and CRANK the starter the ECU will see both the IGN and CRANK signals and leave the FPR ON until ENGINE is RUNNING (ECU see RUNNING RPM's) and then just stays ON. NC Toy Boy
Ok Gents Thanks for All Your Help !!! I appreciate You sharing your knowledge and expertise with the Newbee !! I have the Original Fuel Pump back in and It started quickly, I have not road tested it yet, but I feel confident it will be ok. Also the Fuel Gage Reads Correctly now.... I'd suggest Staying Away from the US Motor Works USEP7072S - In-Tank Fuel Pump Module from Summit Racing.... who Now Says that they do not carry a fuel pump assembly for the MJ models.... The one they sent did not pump for very long.... Less than 100 miles since installed.... Now It sounds like the Motor is spinning but it has NO Flow.... IDK...maybe the impeller fell off.... I was Very Careful as to not running it dry when installing it. I did not compare it to the original one when I changed out the tank with the new one... I have compared them now and see some obvious differences.... I have attached a few pictures of the Original to Me working MJ Unit. The MJ unit has offset hard lines that make the strainer set down in the pan in the bottom of the tank. The Tank I used was the Spectra Model JP5B Fuel Tank... It Looks almost identical to the one I replaced. Don't forget to replace the 2 Vent Valves (I used Dormon 911-060) And the 2 Vapor Vent Valve Seals ( I used Crown ). I also replaced the Filler Neck Hoses with (Crown parts)and the inline Fuel Filter... Hopefully this info.will help someone... Thanks Again !!
