Anyone thought of swapping over the cummins 2.8?  From what I understand the stock motor was 115hp and 145ft. lbs and weighed 350lbs?    The cummins is 161 hp, 307ft. lbs. and weighs 552 lbs.

What would be the use purpose?

 

Not sure the cost would justify the gains. You could stroke the 4.0 and achieve a lot of the same (except for MPG). Plus, LS & TDI motors are abundant and much lower cost comparatively. Just my thoughts anyway.

I am just looking I like the 2.8 and I love diesel torque.

if you've got the cash to do the swap, you won't be disappointed.   lots of happy cummins 2.8 swap owners out there.
