Help me please

Recommended Posts

Hi I am the proud owner of a beat up 1987 Jeep Comanche Sport.  It ran fine before my now ex-husband tried to replace the clutch plate 23 years ago.  I still have most of the parts.  He lost all of the bolts needed to put it back together.  I would like to get my truck back on the road.  I don't care about the appearance right now.

To date, the most I have done mechanically on a vehicle is add oil and washer fluid and change a tire.  Does anyone want to take on the project of fixing my Jeep and teaching me how to work on it myself?   Before you fall off your chair laughing, I am serious.  I live in Chesterton, Indiana.  Oh, on top of everything else, I am on a limited budget.

This is not a joke.  If you think I am a fool, just tell me.  If this is doable, please tell me how.

Thank you for your time.

Interesting project. Just so I can understand correctly, the Jeep has been sitting for 23 years for what was supposed to be a clutch job right? Any pictures you can take of that work area or parts may also be very helpful.

That's right 23 years.  My ex didn't like my Comanche. I have moved the truck from Michigan to Indiana about 15 years ago so seeing the work area is useless .  I can see about taking pictures if the parts I still have.

we all start at the bottom of the knowledge ladder. :L:  the fact that you want to learn how to tackle the bigger things puts you a huge step ahead of most owners. :D

Thank you.  The fact you didn't just laugh is encouraging.  Looking on you tube was suggested and it sounds like as good a place to start as any.

Sport87, you can quickly get YouTube "certified", there is a video for every task on any vehicle on this earth...and then some.

Thank you. I will see what I can find.  Who knows I may get YouTube certified.  I will let you know if I find what I need.
