Whitaker717 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I’m looking for a good switch. I think mine is bad. Although I haven’t taken it out to try to clean it if they can be cleaned. The orange light doesn’t come on. If I am missing something or should try something first let me know. Thanks guys!
eaglescout526 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 No light probably means bad ground. The switch is the same as the fog lamp switches.

eaglescout526 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 If you have fog or the cargo lamps, swap the switch around and test it. If it works, the switch is good. If not well the yes the switch is bad. Rarely do these switches fail, I had one but the prong came off from the back from weak soldering but even then the switch still worked. Does your trans shift at all?
Whitaker717 Posted September 19, 2021 Author Posted September 19, 2021 Thanks Eagle. I pulled it today, cleaned it up with some electrical contact cleaner and bam, the orange light came on. I can’t tell if it works though. Do most people leave it in power or comfort mode?
eaglescout526 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Most folks leave it in power. Basically all it does is it switches a wire in the TCU to change when the trans shifts. So in comfort you won’t feel the trans shift hard. It’ll shift sooner than it would in power mode.
