acfortier
Has anyone painted a steering column? Want to paint mine black to the rest of the interior that I have. What have folks used to try to match the black? I know SEM Color Coat 15013 Landau Black is a good match, but that seems to be only for plastics, will that work on the steering column? Jesse J
I did mine used just whatever semi matte black paint I used for my grill. I immediately got anti sieze on it though
Torq_Shep
The SEM stuff is very tough. I think it would work well on the upper housings of the steering column. The metal part it should work with as well but you probably want to prime that?
boxyjeep
I did this before. Pull out the column, remove steering wheel, clean and paint the plastic surfaces and adjust the tilt as you do. Don’t try to disassemble—it isn’t worth it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
acfortier
As far as the process, I was going to drop it, take off the steering wheel, and mask everything else around it. I was more curious on the product to use--SEM Color Coat is listed as • Properly prepped and primed metal, so just need to take my time. Thanks!
