3.0 CS Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Complete 15K mile 2020 Dana 44 rear axle from a JLU available with disc brakes at a fair price. I have an 89 4wd 4.0 L with automatic at 189K including many flat towed miles.. Is this an easy (worthwhile ?) swap ?
3.0 CS Posted April 9, 2021 Author Posted April 9, 2021 The matched front to it from the 2020 is a dana30. I'm not sure what I have now but maybe I should just based on the mileage ?
Pete M Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 not all 30s and 44s are the same. the newer batch under JKs/JLs are wider and have a different bolt pattern. but they've been installed before, so you're not blazing any new trails. we might have a thread in Epic? I know at least one member here has done it. https://comancheclub.com/forum/41-mj-hardcore-tech-epic-journeys-to-greatness/
ghetdjc320 Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 The new gen d30 fronts a quite stout axles for a 30.
