Need A little help....

Hey guys how goes it...Well just hought id see if any one could maybe give me an insight on what nyight be buggin my truck...You see when i crank it on many times it doesnt turn on just cranks continously...ive checked the wires and everything seems fine and dandy...new battery and cables...and the starter is good...i also just recently changed the module which goes onthe steering column...any advice is greatly appreciated.... :cheers:

this should be in the tech forum but... have you checked the fuel pump relay mine went and did exactly what you described... i just replaced all the relays on the pass. side fender well... botta bing botta boom, there you go two pills and call me in the morning.

to check the pump have someone stick there head under it u should hear a hum while cycling the key on n off or just put a few dops of gas down the throttle body c if it starts if no go but if it does run occasionally tery the crank sencor on the bell housing

yes sir the fuel pump sounds good for /i can hear the humming, i will check the relay tommorow when i have a chance but i want to get it fixed asap for it is my daily driver and having to crank it 4 or 5 times to get it started is not fun ...thnx any other info is appreciated...oh if you all have to move the thread i understand...

Back to basics. In order for an infernal combustion engine to run, it needs fuel, air, and spark. If it cranks we'll assume the valves work and it gets air. The fuel pump is making noises, so for the moment we'll assume that it's putting out sufficient pressure and volume to at least start the engine at idle speed.

 

I have not seen any mention of checking to verify that there is spark. Check that. No spark could be caused by a bad CPS (crankshaft position sensor), or -- more rarely -- a bad coil or bad ignition module.
