Need help with hood pins

Based on all the advice in these forums, I purchased some hood latch buttons from Amazon. Initially they worked really well.

 

Here I installed them

 

The problem I'm having is after putting it all back together and testing it, I maybe got too cocky... I let the hood drop and it $#!& down and now I can't get them to release. I couldn't find any posts or videos to try to get these things open.

 

I push on the button but it's just not budging. The round head bolts are in there... Just looking to see if anyone else had similar issues.

can you unscrew it from the bottom?

which is why i went with pins simple and easy.  used a random hood spring from the junkyard to pop hood up and used a random gas strut to open the hood even on a hill. i opened one side up just to add a small padlock for extended parking. drill it or bfh.

Damn yeah looks like I messed up. 

 

Was able to unscrew them and get them out but would have loved a way to fix them or at least get the bolts out again.

 

 

Just can't push that button to get it open.

even after it was removed?  meaning it's broken?

i had an issue though with the factory hood latches catching and not releasing so i removed all that hardware as well. added weight.
