One is included in the cooling loop, one is outside of it. This is an Amazon link to the tank we have: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-54002-Engine-Coolant-Recovery/dp/B016V2BIB0/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=coolant+reservoir&qid=1595553176&s=automotive&sprefix=coolant+reservoir&sr=1-12 That's a non-pressurized coolant overflow recovery bottle. It's a totally different animal than the pressurized expansion tank in the Renix 4.0L system.
silvertwinkiehobo
Yes, but overflow recovery is because of coolant expansion, and overflow is recovered by contraction during cooldown. The pressurized expansion tanks simply make monitoring actual system capacity easier, but the Jeep bottle was a poor design.
