87 comanche will not start

87 comanche 4.0l.

New to this so please bear with me.washed engine to change valve cover gasket,  I had unplugged battery and let set more than 24 hrs. Tried to crank and started getting backfire that blowed out map sensor vacuum line from back of T.Body. It has spark and is getting fuel, was driving it before replacing gasket,  replaced CPS, can't find any info on why it blows vacuum line, it will not try to run only blowback, please help

Backfire make me think of water in the distributor cap (crossfire).

Washed mine down last fall and it did the same thing

Check for broken parts in the distributor.
