Spring rate calcs?

Dunno where my handy dandy book went.

 

 

Anybody know the formula for calculating spring rates (leaf springs)?

 

 

Better yet, anybody know the rate of the stock MJ rear springs? And maybe with the extra main leaf mod... Okay, nobody will know that.

Yeah, that's sweet if you want to do it that way. But there's actually a calculation that works based on leaf number, thickness, length, etc... I'll just find my book.

I have it in an Excel spreadsheet, and I don't know how well formulae transfer to a web page. Let's see if I can make this look like it makes sense:

 

(leaf width x number of leaves / 72) X (1820 x leaf thickness / spring length)
