A/c control head identifying

Can anyone tell me what company made this. My 88 Comanche has add on a/c I don’t believe this a old Jeep kit. All the ones I’ve seen have Max a/c and then a/c

Does your control head turn on the a/c compressor when the heater only is on? I’m fighting a poor heat problem. I did all the basic stuff new thermostat, flushed heater core. It helped but if I disconnect the a/c compressor I have good heat. Reconnect heat goes back to warm.

Theres a whole thing on that in the user manual. To paraphrase what I remember, it said that the compressor kicks on to eliminate the moisture out of the air, hence "air conditioning". Despite only warm air coming out, the blower also has to shove air through the evap and into the heater core to produce the heat you have requested. Which also helps with defrosting.

 

It is on but it is not on. It is strange.

I can run out and check for you 

 

update : just checked and the compressor doesn’t run on heat. Just on a/c despite there being no freon in the system

It is on but it is not on. It is strange.

The a/c compressor should come on in all a/c modes and defrost. That’s what all my Cherokee’s did with factory a/c

I vaguely remember it saying something about the same with heat mode. Maybe it just was only for defrost. But I do experience the same thing where the heat is only warm and blows out on vent mode and on heat mode it blows out really warm from the floor vents.
