eaglescout526
Oh lord. I forgot about tree striping. But its been a long while since I last took LR to the desert for something. As for people who overland, I can only imagine doing that in an old school van and some camping equipment. But no one has the time to just go out from work for a month and just live peacefully until it is time to return. Although that does sound like hell of a dream. Like a Ron Swanson type dream. It could also not have one. Like you said, it came from Nevada and it gets pretty damn hot there during their summers so it sounds about right to be a freeway runner and no T-stat. KANTANKRUS
The PO bought it 8 years ago, when he was living in Henderson, NV. That guy seemed to not be, very mechanically inclined. Wait until I show the photo (when I snap it), of the homeowners plumbing type pipe, that I guess he installed at some point. I was shocked when I saw it, for the first time. I have shrugged it off, since then. But in time, I want to replace that 'rig up' with proper rubber tubbing.
eaglescout526
Scary what people do as back woods jury rigging.
KANTANKRUS
I bought this truck, for a Kings Ransom, and when I bought it, the Peugeot BA10/5 was already ruined. Actually my first start up, before buying it, it sounded like a rod was bad in the motor. Here it turned out to be, the throw out bearing was nearly destroyed. Yes, it still motored down the road, for my test drive, but holy cow, was it ever touch and go. That guy bought it with intention to rebuild it, but when he realized that immediate parts were not readily available (meaning), to actually build something like these fairly rare vehicles, it takes time to find parts. We that own them, for any length of time, understand that our builds are almost never a Microwave build, it takes time to do, no 'zap' rebuilds, for us! eaglescout526
I think any Jeep vehicle except for the CJ's are tough to find parts for. Member on here is struggling to find XJ Wagoneer specific parts. I can imagine the SJ community is having just as hard of a time as us, let alone the J-trucks. KANTANKRUS
Overlanding, not my photos. But it sure looks fun, even in the toughest environments!
eaglescout526
Damn I miss camping and being in the out doors. Damn aging out of the scouts.
KANTANKRUS
My SJ sits in the garage, my MJ is taking all of my focus, until it is reasonably closer to being done. My SJ is my 'Queen' of my fleet. Sure it needs things, but my MJ gets things first.

I will be 60 in April 2020. I look forward to doing this after I am at 65, but I won't likely retire. It seems to me, once a person retires, that he or she dies faster. Not for me, I plan to live until 'they close the lid'
