Stumpy Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 anybody have pics of what the stock leaf packs look like? i am trying to figure out if mine are AAL or full lift packs. thanks in advance!!
Pete M Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 3 regular leafs plus the overload for normal MJs. 4 regular leafs plus the overload for Metric Ton MJs. Chances are that an AAL will look a little different that the others (like the shape at the ends or the finish of the paint) and, while the ends of the regular leafs are spaced fairly evenly apart, an AAL will seem to be shoved in. Stumpy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 i think i have an AAL. would it be the shortest leaf?......
Pete M Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Yup. That would be a "short" AAL. There are also "long" AALs out there. Jeep on! --Pete

Pete M Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 It would be worth it to me to seek out a "long" AAL and swap them. Jeep on! --Pete
Bounty Hunter Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Probably a harsh ride as well, typical of short AAL's. I've got a set of MJ leaf springs for sale, would make a good donor for a full-length AAL. Or if you're ready for SOA I could weld it up for your spring pack without the short AAL. I forget what size tire you're running. The full-length AAL from a donor pack may not add as much height, you're talking maybe 1.5" or 2" over stock without stiffening the ride.
87manche Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 skyjacker makees a full length 3" AAL. I've got a set sitting in the garage. I know most people aren't cool with skyjacker, but I couldn' pass up $200 for 3" coils, shocks and AAL.
