Manche757 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I am sure this has been dealt with but I am still not clear about it. Are fuse panels for all MJ years the same? Which year XJ panels can be used to replace an 87MJ, 4.0, 5 speed and also in an 89MJ, 4.0, 5 speed?

Green Mesa XJ Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Depends on what you are trying to do. Fuse boxes are probably 84-94-96ish. That if you just need the plastic holder and your wires and leads are ok.If you want to swap a new box in with the rest of the dash harness then you need to find the right year to match the bulk head plug in the fire wall.From what I can tell, this could be off a little if someone know better please correct it. 84-85 xj are unique for the old amc style bulk head.86 was the start of the renix era even though the 2.8 v6 was still an option.86-90 seem to have the same firewall bulk head plug. 91- through 94-95 I know look the same, far as the bulkhead plugs connecting engine harness to dash harness.1996 might be the same plug but they added OBD 2 to it, not sure about using those yearsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
