Cali Cruse
I've looked this up, so I'm looking at either a crap gasket or thermostat fell out of the recess and caused cracked housing upon tightening of the screws. The bottom one was a pain, had help push it down so I could get to it. Another big challenge is that it's hard to get the bottom screw into the hole. One last point, the thermostat purchased did not have a hole in it on top like the original thermostat, indicating insertion point. Is that an issue? AZJeff
The small hole in the thermostat is supposed to help with "burping" the system to remove air upon refilling. It DOES help. Since only OEM thermostats have those, I always add two holes to my replacement thermostats before installing. I drill a 1/16" hole 180 degrees apart on the flange, and then install the thermostat with one of the holes at the "12 o'clock" position.
Cali Cruse
Interesting! It's what I thought as well. This Comanche forum is a treasure trove, it and Scotty Kilmer on YouTube.Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
