Quanah Parker
Hello everybody, My name is Dave, I am from West Virginia. I am going to pick up a 1987 MJ 2.5 with 151 thousand miles miles on it, 2wd this weekend for $500 bucks . Body has some rust but not to bad. I have to drive 2 hours to get it and back. My question Is where is the fuel filter and what kind of connectors does it have? The vehicle has set for a little while with 1/4 tank of gas in it so I am a little concerned that the fuel filter may be dirty. I want to change it before I drive it but can not find where it is located on the vehicle by doing an on line search. Thank you for any help. kryptronic
Drivers side just in front of the fuel tank along the frame rail. It's held on by band clamps, so bring screwdrivers (slotted and phillips) and a set of pliers. Plus some rags.

WahooSteeler
Along with the new fuel filter I'd take a jug of fresh gas and a can of Seafoam if you haven't thought of that already. Welcome to the madness.
Quanah Parker
I love seafoam, use it all the time, great stuff. There is a filling station close by so I will stop to fill up.
All around mj
Depending on how long that fuel has been sitting in the tank you may want to siphon out as much as possible before adding more fuel.
