AMC86Kid Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Hi guys been a wile since i posted can anyone post a link on how to remove or pull the dash out i need to swap mine out with a different one thanks
gogmorgo Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/dash-removal-35444/ I followed that one years ago. The only thing I would add is that you have to unbolt the parking brake release handle from the lower dash panel in step one.
WyoCherokee Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 be very careful with the heater control cable connection. it's plastic and can break very easily. Take out your instrument cluster and remove the speedo cable before you start yanking on it. the heater hoses are a royal pain to hook back up. Take your time, put screws in labeled plastic baggies. Took me a full day with breaks to remove, change heater core, and re-install dash. It helps to remove your seats and console.
gogmorgo Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I pulled the dash to replace wires with the seats in place. They give you somewhere to sit to work, lol. If you've got a full console I can see that getting in the way, though.
AMC86Kid Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 thanks i will try my best sure looks like a lot of time oh well
AMC86Kid Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 Well boys i got the dash out it wasn't too difficult and all i can see that i damaged was the plastic ties that hold the wires and a vent duck tube
AMC86Kid Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 the tube on the driver side was the one that i had a hard time removing
AMC86Kid Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 it was getting dark so i stopped but my other vent tube wasn't connected or at least i didn't notice where it was connected if you guys know where it goes let me know other wise i will snoop around when i go to clean it all out tomorrow
