Cali Cruse
From the pains of a malfunctioning blower motor and a non-working radio now being fixed, onto the next item, that is driver's side window trimming. With the rain, I've been noticing a fair amount of moisture getting into the cabin. Is this something as simple as going to a windshield/window repair place, going to Ziebart, and getting the rubber trimming put on, or is it something more involved that requires Comanche specific trimming? Thanks.

My suggestion is to buy a door weatherstripping kit that includes all the pieces for both doors, prp makes one or buy the pieces you need Crown Automotive sells them by the piece. Pete M
are you talking about the door seals? late model XJ seals are a bit thicker and go right on.

That's exactly it! Is it an online purchase or does any parts store carry it? That's why my blower motor fuse shorted again, every time it rains moisture has been getting in and shorting out the fuse. Literally, a kingdom for a door seal, is how I'm feeling. Pete M
I imagine they are available in both places but I don't know for sure. I got my set from the junkyard
Cali Cruse
So I tracked down the leak, it is coming from the windshield as I suspected above. Since the windshield is cracked, I'm going to have it replaced also, in addition to the rubber seal (weatherstripping) all the way around. Would I still need the thin metal trim pieces all the way around the windshield, or are they purely cosmetic and and can be discarded?
Pete M
I believe the 97+ rubber windshield gasket replaces those trim bits.

If you want to keep it original (I did) and the windshield trim is in good shape (mine was), the installer can reinstall the trim using the earlier gasket. If not, ask the installer to use the 97+ windshield gasket.
