I have a 91 comanche 4.0 manual 5 speed ax15 hooked up to a 231j transfer case... fairly simple question here guys... I need to know a part number or something to search on which bell housing I need to buy. I've pretty much decided that I'm going to buy a new trans ax15 from novak... and I want to switch to the external slave upgrade

I'm sure someone will beat me to it, but if not I will get you a part number Saturday. I would think you could find on their website if your planning on shopping the web. I put a post up on here where a junkyard in Lake Station Indiana had 2 98s as of Mother's Day. They will pull, I don't know if they ship.

I've looked around on here and couldn't find what I was looking for thanks bud!

If you are just wanting to swap to external slave on ax15 behind a 4.0l as far as my understanding is concerned any ax15 external slave bell housing that came behind the 4.0l would work

1994-1999 AX15s will have the external slave bell.

 

You will also need an external slave front bearing retainer for an AX15,a clutch fork and retaining clip for a 94 up AX5 or AX15, then your throw out bearing, and clutch hydraulics.
