Why do it to yours and destroy it when you can practice in the yard disassembling a cherokee one and then try the dye or paint on it first. Who knows maybe a set will come up by then. Meanwhile you still have yours in the truck until you have practiced. I wasn't going to attempted it until I heard from someone with more experience than me. Living in a small town so no junk yards within 2 hours or so. Jeep Driver Posted May 5, 2018 Share Posted May 5, 2018 Pull it all the way out, put a clamp on the belt so it cannot retract, dye the belt.
