If so, have you verified that it's working? The HOs did away with that valve, and it might be something for you to think about. The water control valve was present on XJs and MJs through 1996. The 1997 models were the first junk the valve and use straight hoses to the heater core.
coolwind57
Got it fixed and she's blowing out hot air like a champion. I did two things: 1. Disconnected heater hoses at valve cover, drained heater core then blew it out via my lungs. 2. Poured CLR into lower heater core port until I began to spill out of upper hose 3. Waited about a half hour and drained. 4. Flushed with water by pouring it in, then blowing it out. Did this like 4 times, alternating ports and thus direction of flush. I also bought a spill-proof funnel system and totally burped my new open system the way it should be done. I'm digging this new funnel. Worth the 20 bucks spent. No leaks and it totally worked like a charm. I'm loving this new heat.

Did you get the direct connect hoses and if so, where? What are you using for an overflow bottle and where did you mount it? So many questions, I know Thanks, much appreciated. Here's the funnel I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A6AS6LY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was a great investment. I am not sure what you mean by "direct connect hoses." I have a write up in of what I did at Member's Project, "Coolwind's". Check out page 3 for the closed to open conversion and I think it'll answer most of your questions. Let me know if I can assist further. Good luck, Brother.
