kill_burst
I am in the process of completing a 4x4 conversion on my 90 MJ with a 3.5 inch RE lift and 32s. I decided that I would use the Ford 8.8 Rearend. I will be finished with the swap in the next day or 2. I know I will need a new driveshaft. Any recommendations on setup for the driveshaft? Do I need a SYE? Recommended companies for the driveshaft. Thanks in advance
HOrnbrod
Tom Woods Custom Driveshaft: http://www.4xshaft.com/ Lot's of good reading there too regarding lifts and SYE's.
Pete M
SYE is unnecessary (we have a really long wheelbase and that means a really long driveshaft which means the angles are nice and gentle as opposed to wranglers and XJs) but can be a good strength upgrade if you've got the cash. Second this. I know there are others out there but I've never heard anyone bash Tom Woods. I've used 3 shafts from him and two SYEs. Ordered my shaft from him for my 4.5" lift with 8.8 rear on my MJ. Be sure to measure your flange pattern before ordering. SYE or not, just have your flange to output measurements ready.
