Jkics
87 Comanche 6 cylinder 4 liter 146k on the clock but engine was rebuilt @110k Only about 20k miles in the last 12 years, now that I have it back I want to drive it. Recent mechanic and maintenance things we have done Crank sensor and coil has been replaced and the rear brake line repaired. Drove fine going home and to town the next day. The following day as I was going to town it start missing so I turned around and parked it at home. Replaced the fuel filter and plugs. Run great, even better than the previous day. Drove to store to fill up with gas and added a bottle of sea foam. Got on the interstate, did great at high speed (70 ish). Drove to town the next day and did a lot of starting and stopped with errands to do. Even took to the shop and greased the front end and found where the ac line was stopped up and leaking inside but they unplugged that. On the way home got into the heavy rain storm then about 3 miles from the house, it was like running on half power all the way home. Only could do really slow. Idles good but only cuts out when I give the gas. Since then I replaced the distributor cap and rotor drove done the road, seemed to do fine. Started it again later that day now its cuts out again. Replaced the plug wires next and still cuts out. Need advise on where to go next.
Jeep Driver
Replace the fuel pump relay and bypass the fuel pump resistor. Curious, how long did it sit? How long has it sat before you got it?
MuddFoot
If it sat for a while you might need to change the fuel pump it's a issue I have if I leave a car sitting a year in Florida humidity I guess gets water in the tank Sent from my Z981 using Tapatalk
Jkics
Didn't really just sit in one spot. Father in law mostly used it as a yard truck moving limbs around. Not much driving on the road as much
Jkics
It's just strange that it runs great one time and next time not so much.
