hakukamana
Hey guys I need some help. Was helping a buddy yesterday and broke the slip yoke snap ring groove on his manche. What we have is a 1989 Eliminator, 2WD with a AW4. and a D44. Kind of a special setup especially with the 44. I have search the local DS shops like Denny's and the like they don't even know what an AW4 is. Thought it would be straight forward but no such luck. My parts breakdown does not show drive shaft components, so I thought I would ask the forum, I really need to find out where I can get my hands on a new unit. No local JY sources available at this time. 1310 spicer u-joints, 6" barrel length C/L of the yoke to end of barrel, yoke is 26 spline, any help would be greatly appreciated
a bum with money
Aloha! I did some checking on some Web sites, rockauto,Napa. And they didnt list the slip yoke as a separate part from the the whole driveshaft. I'm not completely 100% sure, but it might be something you might get in the pick yards or someone here might have one. Maybe cherokee Yoke? HOrnbrod
I have the same setup, 2WD AW4 w. D44 on my 91. 2WD AW4's have a 27 spline output from the tailpiece. The 27-spline GM long slip yoke works fine for a 2WD AW4. You can cut the snout down as needed, example below. There are plenty of 27-spline slip yokes with varying snout lengths and 1310 u-joint eye configurations on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-Driveshaft-Slip-Yoke-Long-27-SP-1310-GM-T350-TH-350-/191992197817?hash=item2cb3a072b9:g:0F8AAOSwNRdX-9Tb&vxp=mtr For the D44 end of the driveshaft I use a u-bolt pinion like this: http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differential/Dana-Spicer-Dana-30-35-44-50-Dana-300-T-C1310-Series-Pinion-Yoke-2-4-8091x.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=515&t_pt=7940&t_pn=D%2fS2-4-8091x
