xjustinx
Has anyone fitted AN fittings on their sending unit? I know you could use compression fittings but with that you would have to cut the tubes on the unit. I kinda would like just to use an adapter if that exists since good sending units for the Comanche are hard to come by. Would hate to destroy a good one just experimenting. Strokermjcomanche
There is no raised portion on the lines coming out of the sending unit that the plastic clip will hold onto. Just out of curiosity, why are you wanting to change to those fittings ? I've never had one leak before...
Jeep Driver
The real question is- why not? I assumed they were quick-connects, which suck. Get a steel adapter and silver solder them on, they can always be removed.

The OP doesn't want to ruin the good sending unit by cutting it up, so I'm answering in regards to that . The ends of the lines are mushroomed on the sending unit to keep the rubber hose on once its hose clamped on preventing any steel adapter from sliding on . Not to mention if the sending unit was rotted out ( the only reason I see that it would need to be replaced ) the lines would be weak and not hold up to soldering anyhow . Jeep Driver
The only reason to get AN is to go braided, if that's his desire, there are clamp-on ends for the braided steel. Then go on with braided or a mix of braided/hard line with AN fittings. Some of us do things just to do them.
