walker exhaust packing question.

guys, where in the exhaust system does felpro part # 60836 go? . it's packing of some sort but at what point in the system does it go? mani to down pipe? down pipe to cat? or cat to muffler or other???

this pt# is from rock auto for an 87 2.5 with 7' bed

i dug up an old thread from when i put an exhaust system on 4 years ago. 1 guy says it goes between down pipe and mani and another says that the 87 doesn't use that donut packing that it's built in. i'm doing work on her today but don't wanna drop that pipe if i don't have to. can anyone clarify whether the 87 2.5 uses that packing or not?

I just went to walkerexhaust.com and the donut flange was not listed for 2.5L options.

Don't know what to tell  ya.............

 

May be that the doughnut was used for the '84-'86 engines.

 

Here is mine that came with my Felpro master gasket set for the 2.5
