texasjack Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I recently purchased an 87 Comanche and the brake release handle was laying on the floor board. Rather than spend $30 for a used one I purchased a very small cable clamp from Home Depot and a bike spoke from a shop. I measured the distance between the under dash release lever and the handle and clamped the handle and the spoke together and it works great! Now I need to find the bracket that goes between the A/C compressor stand and the rear of the compressor. HELP!!! Thank you Texasjack Aledo, TEXAS
spike36 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Texasjack can you post a pic of your fix? I have a broken brake release that I need to fix. The little ball on the tip was hanging on by a few strands and finally snapped. I was thinking about drilling and tapping the end with something small like a #4 or #6 and drill a through hole in the bolt head and run safety wire from the bolt to the release lever.
texasjack Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 I do not have a way to transfer pixs to this site. Get a very small cable clamp and look at the spoke and the handle as two cables and clamp them together. Use the small solid end of the handle. Jack
