tjbuggie
I have an 1988 base short bed, and was wondering what the bed itself is worth?? The bed is very clean and straight, with no rust or dents. I am building the truck to be a trail/ rock crawler, and am thinking about pulling the bed and building a flat bed before I mess up the bed. So what to yall think it is worth???? tjbuggie
Well, I guess this was the wrong place to ask this question....
Zambeezy
Just completely depends on where you are and what the competition is like. If yours is the only one for 500 miles and is as clean as you say, you can ask $500+. If there are several others in neighboring towns, you could expect $250-$400 probably. NC Tom
I have a tale to tell. A friend of mine owns an antique shop. He came across a large lot of WWII-era political campaign buttons, bought them and put them in his shop. Didn't sell any and was dumbfounded about it. For the hell of it he doubled the price and they all sold. What he got from this was that at a low price, people thought they were fakes or repros. At a higher price, they figured they were legit. As you know, pricing for MJ's is all over the place. Clean the hell out of it and ask high. You may get it. People LOVE shiny! However, I'm not advocating deception. Keep it honest and accurate. . :MJ 1: .
Pete M
it'll be worth more up north in the rust belt.
tjbuggie
Yeah, I think just by what I have here I will just leave it on the truck, and put a flat bed on it later on down the road.....not sure it will pull enough money here in Texas, because it is too far away from most of the people who would need/want it...
