Cluster upgrade, sensor question

With the coolant temp sender being a single wire the threads have to be bare for it to ground correct? Thank you for your help.

I put teflon tape on mine, which probably isn't needed.  The threads will cut through when you screw it in, and will make plenty of contact with the head for conductivity.

^^ This. Always use Teflon tape on sensors with NPT and a single output contact. The threads will cut through the tape for a good ground contact, and you don't need to over-tighten the sensor to prevent fluid leaks.
