Just a regular ol' switch in the cab. It pulls hot air out of the engine compartment and pushes it forwards, away from the cab. Works on the freeway too, as there isn't any "forced air induction" going on in that exact spot on the hood. In fact, when the fan is off, air still comes out of the hood (little puffs of blow-by smoke were wisping out from the hood). The fan was way too powerful for this particular application (it was just some random fan in the junkyard) so I toned it down using an old resistor pack from the interior blower of the truck. Careful about those resistor packs, as they get hot enough to catch paper towel on fire. Inside the cab the resistors are put directly into the air flow so I replicated that when I put them near my hood fan.
