Sanding Bed ?

so after i got done fixing most of the dents in the beat up bed 

i started sanding the paint and i found out the the 

original color of the truck is black but some one has spray painted it teal 

so my question was, should i sand off both colors or just the teal ?

 

 

my guess was sand it down to the metal around all area that will be getting bondo 

but just sand it down to the black in area that will just be getting repainted and have no body work done to them 

what do you guys think ?

i surprisingly do not have to put that much bondo on the bed

since i spent about 3 days hammering out all the dents 

 

if you want i can post a pic of it all sanded and bondo up ?
