schardein Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 So I recently splurged, and got a good deal on a used ARB portable freezer/refrigerator. Got it yesterday, and it works. Problem is, it only included the house current cord. The vehicle dc power cord is missing. Amazon has this https://www.amazon.com/ARB-10910076-12-24C-Cord/dp/B00NIOBC1G/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EQXFT3PSPVJJYXPVBPMM for $28. I was wondering if anyone knew a source for just the end that goes into the fridge. I am going to hard wire it anyway. Or does anyone know a good place (other forum) to ask? Thanks!
64 Cheyenne Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 If it is just male pins into a female socket, I'd use a crimp butt connector end on each wire, heat shrink it call it good. Use the female side of the connector to slide over the male pin. Red wire hot, black ground, wrapped in wire loom.

I thought about that, but it looks like it's a molded plug and wanted something at least a little water resistant and would stay plugged in better than just female disconnects. I found a replacement cord online for $20, some were as much as $30 +shipping. Does the fridge run on 12V? Yes, it can run on house current or 12vdc. I've read it's actually more efficient on 12vdc. It uses a different cord for each.
