S.O.S. tranny or clutch

His T-case will bolt up, but do the AX5's have the same 21 or 23 spline input/output year ranges that the BA10 and AX-15 do?  If so, it won't bolt up without changing the output of the trans or input of the t-case.  What about input shaft pilot bearing?  Any differences between the years?   Two questions worth asking/answering before he tries to install it and finds out the hard way.

Good to know!  Not too familiar with the AX-5.  Just wanted to prevent some potential headaches for the guy.  :thumbsup:

External slave has nothing to do with the tcase...

The tcase would just bolt up to your new transmission...

To convert to external slave there's a series of parts to accumulate in order to do the swap....

 

If your new transmission has the bell housing...it will be external slave and will come with the external bearing...

Hopefully it will still have the clutch fork, clutch fork pin...

 

You will need a clutch kit for that year...(which will include clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing , alignment tool)

 

Then you'll need the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder...they sell it as a set to save hassle in the long run...

So if it comes with the bell housing and has the clutch fork, pin, I should be able to buy a clutch kit for that year to acquire the rest of the parts. And my master is new I still need to change it? Also if I need it faster can I mount my bell housing and keep it internal. I know external is easier and I have a work truck but I wanna try to swap it over a weekend (2days)

Yeah just make sure You swap your internal bell housing and the bearing as the pic I posted in an earlier post and everything should be smooth as silk...
