  1. I have power to the rear brake light wire at the rear most connector by the tire carrier but the brake lights won't work
  2. So I did all the splicing today so far the rear speaker work the fuel pump n fuel gauge work as well as my rear running lights but I have no brake lights or rear turn lights
  3. Those seem to all match up now I gotta figure out the 88 pins I got them all for the 6 pin connector but not the 10 pin
  4. It's the black 16 pin connector behind the driver side kick panel below the parking brake assembly that connects the rear part of the harness to the dash section
  5. 1991 Black plug Pin 1 - green/red Pin 2 - tan Pin 3 - blue/red Pin 4 - blue Pin 5 - brown/green Pin 6 - green Pin 7 - brown/yellow Pin 8 - brown/blue Pin 9 - yellow (same pin as other yellow) Pin 9 -yellow Pin 10 - pink (same pin as other pink) Pin 10 -pink Pin 13 - blue/orange Pin 14 - blue/white Pin 15 - green/black Pin 16 - orange/black This is the pin # and color from the rear harness in my 1991 as you can see it doesn't match
  6. Hornbord a few color/pins match your schematic the rest are all different
  7. 1988 Gray plug -Orange -brown/white -gray/black -tan -brown -black Black plug -brown -black/yellow -white -white -green/white -orange/black -pink/black -black/white -black -pink 1991 Black plug -yellow (same pin as other yellow) -yellow -pink (same pin as other pink) -pink -blue/orange -blue/white -green/black -orange/black -brown/blue -brown/yellow -green -brown/green -blue -blue/red -tan -green/red
  8. These (above) are the connectors in my 88 And These (below) is the connector from the 91. Both are 16 wires total. Can I splice the new style connector to the old wires if so what colors to what
  9. I can take pictures but no way to upload on this forum with my phone.
  10. Yea I have a 1991 sender So I need to swap the whole sender assembly or just the pumps. Also how do I modify the connectors like what wires splice to what
  11. Okay so I'm almost done with my motor swap. I went from a 1988 mj 2.5 5spd 4x4 to a 4.0 aw4 4x4 from a 91 mj. I have swapped the whole driveline all of the engine bay electrics and the behind the dash electronics. I'm curious about the rear cab harness do I need to swap that one also since it's fuel pump rear lights and b pillar lights or can I change the connector and leave the wires
  12. @jeep_driver I'm willing to part and ship prices will be price of shipping and a little extra for me I only gotta make a little to make my money back since I already have parts sold
  13. Eagle it's 2 separate harnesses right. And only go threw the fire wall at the bulkhead
  14. @Jeep Driver I know the rad and rad support luckily it's a bolt in swap. But what exactly with the fuel system other then the pump. I know the 4.0 pump puts out more then the 2.5 but that's it. Also @omega_rugal somewhere I saw a list of roughly how many of each model was built even down to the packages
  15. Okay so I have acquired a donor mj a 1991 4.0 auto 4x4 sb. The frame is completely rotted to $#!& and not worth saving. I have a 1988 2.5 5spd 4x4 Lb. I plan to do a motor/tranny swap since my body and frame on the 88 are mint but it has the small 2.5. The 4.0 with the bad frame fires right up and drives but the frame starts to fold. So I'm looking for as much input as possible since I plan to start the swap in 3 weeks. Here's my plan. Park them side by side and gut my 2.5 completely pull the motor tranny tcase and all the electronics. Then I plan to swing in the 4.0 and tranny bolt it in then attach the tcase and cross member. Next I plan to bring over everything from the 4.0 motor bay and bolt it in leaving just the harness. Once everything is over I plan to bring the harness over and connect it. Now all that should be left is my interior harness and ecu. So I plan to bring over the interior harness and ecu and hooking it up then bring over the 4.0 steering column (column shift) and it should be And I know I have to have my driveshaft rebuilt but is there anything I'm missing or should do differently or tips I feel it should be straight forward and easy since it's a full donor mj
